Our Story

The Ivy House was born from a love of home and a deep belief that the objects we surround ourselves with shape how we live, how we feel, and how we interact with our environment. Guided by this philosophy, our first Auckland showroom opened its doors in 2014, driven by a singular, passionate desire: to bring the authentic story, ancient lineage, and exquisite artistry of Armadillo’s handwoven rugs to New Zealand.

Today, we are proud to serve as the exclusive home of Armadillo rugs in NZ, while dynamically expanding our textile narrative with Fermoie - fine UK designed fabrics born from a mastery of hand-drawn colour, light, and texture.

Together, our collections form a highly curated world where masterfully handmade pieces, rich in character and built to endure, bring a timeless sense of joy, sanctuary, and integrity to New Zealand homes.

Our Showrooms

Our Auckland showroom in Grey Lynn is open to both design professionals and the public, offering full sampling and personalised consultations.

We have our Armadillo range on display in both Designmade Chch and the Wellington Design Library. Samples to take home are available as well as our larger hanging samples to capture how this may look at home.

We also extend our services across New Zealand, sending samples and offering support wherever your project may be.

Discover The Ivy House in Grey Lynn, Auckland. Our showroom is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with free parking at the door (access via Sussex street). 

The Armadillo Collection is available to view and borrow samples in both Wellington and Christchurch.
